County to hold public forum on safety issues at John Tyler Highway intersections

County Supervisor Ruth Larson will lead a discussion about safety issues at John Tyler Highway’s intersections with Greensprings Road and Centerville Road on Jan. 24.

Larson will be joined by county staff and Virginia Department of Transportation representatives, who will discuss potential solutions to make the intersections safer and get public input on the ideas, according to a county news release.

“Unfortunately, frequently used fixes such as widening the road or installing a traffic circle won’t work in the area,” Larson said in the release. “We need to meet with our citizens, explain why those approaches won’t work and come up with a solution to the numerous accidents at these intersections.”

The public meeting takes place at 6 p.m. Jan. 24 at Jamestown High School, located at 3751 John Tyler Highway.
