York County Public Library announces winners of 2015 digital photography contest

Area photographers submitted photos to York County Public Library’s 2015 Digital Photography Contest. And out of 99 images, six winners were chosen.

The contest was open to amateur photographers, excluding library employees and their immediate families, and 64 photographers submitted up to two photos. First, second and third place winners were selected for two categories—teens ages 13 to 17 and adults age 18 and older. Each winner received a cash prize.

In the teen category, Kirsten Carter of Hampton took first place. Marlena Artis of Yorktown won second place, and Becky Williams of Yorktown won third.

Heidi Traynor of Yorktown won first place in the adult category. Wayne Reynolds of Williamsburg won second place, while Bruce Crocker of Yorktown took third.

The contest was supported by York County Arts Commission.
