Staff writer

After opening an office in York County, Second Congressional District Congresswoman Elaine Luria announced Tuesday she’ll hold a town hall meeting there May 28.

Luria, a Democrat, previously hosted town hall meetings in Virginia Beach and on the Eastern Shore, according to a news release from Luria’s office.

Residents on the Peninsula will have the opportunity to ask questions of Luria and offer her suggestions and ideas on policy, the release said.

The event is slated for 6-7:30 p.m. at The Mount Peninsula located at 6406 George Washington Memorial Highway, according to the release. Doors will open at 5 p.m., and seating will be limited to 250 people on a first-come, first-serve basis.

“Following the recent opening of our office in Yorktown, I’m thrilled to hear directly from residents of the Peninsula,” Luria said in a statement. “I’m honored to have the chance to help residents, answer questions, and discuss what’s happening in Washington. I eagerly await a productive dialogue.”

Luria will bring representatives of the Social Security Administration and the Virginia Department of Veterans Services with her to provide information to attendees about each agency’s services, the release said.

Luria opened an office for constituent services on the Peninsula in May. The office is at 105 Professional Parkway, Suite 1512, in York County.
