NWS: Greater Williamsburg under flash flood watch

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for James City and York counties through Wednesday, July 25. The City of Williamsburg is under a flood watch for the same period.The recent rainfall has saturated the ground across the Virginia Peninsula, according to the National Weather Service. Rain showers will move across Central Virginia toward the Chesapeake Bay into Wednesday.

The National Weather Service urges residents of urban and low-lying areas to be vigilant in observing forecasts and to be prepared if a flash flood warning is issued.
