No injuries in James City hotel fire

No injuries were reported in a fire that broke out in the laundry of a James City County hotel.

On Thursday around 7 p.m., fire crews from James City County, Williamsburg and York County were called to the Quality Inn and Suites in the 5300 block of Richmond Road for a fire, according to a James City County news release.

Fire crews extinguished the fire that was contained to the laundry area of the hotel, the release said.

There was damage to the laundry equipment and laundry itself, according to the release.

Patrons of the hotel were evacuated but were later allowed to return to their rooms, the release said.

The fire remains under investigation by the James City County Fire Marshal’s Office, according to the release.
