A popular, free lecture series will return to Riverside Doctors’ Hospital Williamsburg, with the first in the series set for later this week.
“The Doctor is In” speaker series of three free monthly lectures on health-related topics will resume at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Adria Vanhoozier, the vice president/administrator at Riverside Doctors’ Hospital Williamsburg, said the hospital was excited to see the lecture series return.
“We are delighted to bring this popular series back to the community,” Vanhoozier said. “Our goal is to connect residents with Riverside providers to discuss the very things that can help us all live healthier, more active lives.”
The first speaker, will be Dr. Jared Harrison of Riverside Primary Care Norge, and he will present “useful, practical information on how to live a healthy lifestyle” titled “Healthy Living in the New Year.”
Dr. Rory Sandberg of Riverside Orthopedic, sports medicine and physiatry specialists will speak Feb. 20, and Dr. Scott V. Burgess of Riverside Urology Specialists on March 14.
Sandberg will lead a discussion about knee pain and treatments for the aging population, while Burgess, who recently completed a fellowship in robotic and minimally invasive surgery at Tulane University of Louisiana Medical Center, will detail how robotics has helped Riverside pioneer this surgical solution for local patients.
Future speakers, which will be scheduled through December, will be announced throughout 2019.
Each monthly event in the series will take place from 6-7 p.m. (doors open at 5:30 p.m.) in Conference Rooms A and B at Riverside Doctors' Hospital Williamsburg, 1500 Commonwealth Ave. While the events are free, seating is limited.
