The Salvation Army will accept applications for Back to School assistance from June 25-29.
Applications may be submitted between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day and from 5-7 p.m. June 25.
Back to School assistance — often called Apple Tree Back to School Assistance — helps families in need with children enrolled in kindergarten through 12th grade. The program provides applicants with backpacks and basic school supplies.
Applicants must have incomes below the poverty line and be residents of James City County, Williamsburg or Upper York County.
Necessary documentation includes proper identification for parent(s), birth certificates for children and proof of income for the household. Any letters from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program are sufficient proof of income.
