Police in Williamsburg are asking for the public’s help locating a man wanted in a sex trafficking case.

Evan Anthony Cole, 29, is accused of abducting and forcing two victims into prostitution.

Williamsburg Police were called to the 300 block of York Street for a suspicious incident. Upon arrival, officers located two victims who said they were abducted and forced into prostitution by Cole.

Police said Cole also strangled, assaulted and robbed the two victims of personal items. They were treated for injuries that weren’t life-threatening.

Cole was charged with two counts each of sex trafficking, abduction, robbery, along with two misdemeanor counts of assault and battery, and one count of strangulation.

Williamsburg Police Department spokesman John Heilman urged anybody with information that could lead to Cole’s capture to come forward.

“We encourage our citizens to provide any information they can about the whereabouts of Evan Cole, or details about the incidents that occurred on July 5,” Heilman said. “No detail is too trivial or insignificant, and for your safety, please do not confront Mr. Cole if you see him, call 911 and the police will respond.”

Cole is described as being 6’2” and 190 pounds, and has unique tattoos on his face, neck and hands.

Anyone who has information on Cole’s whereabouts or this investigation should contact Investigator Nichols at 757-220-6238 or call the Peninsula Crime Line at 1-888 LOCK-U-UP.
