York County supervisors elect Shepperd chairman, Green vice-chairman

Thomas Shepperd is back in the chairman’s seat of the York County Board of Supervisors.

On Wednesday, supervisors elected supervisor Shepperd to chair the board. Supervisor Chad Green was elected vice-chairman, according to a York County news release.

Shepperd previously served as chairman in 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2015, the release said. In his fifth term, the District 5 supervisor serves as the county’s representative to multiple regional transportation planning commissions among other organizations.

Shepperd was first elected to the board after a special election in 2001, according to the release. He previously served on the Planning Commission, and wetlands board and drainage committee.

In his first term, Green serves the county as the District 3 supervisor, the release said. Green also serves as the board’s liaison to the county youth commission.

The board of supervisors meets the first and third Thursday of every month, except the first Thursdays of July and November, according to the release. Their meetings start at 6 p.m. and meeting agendas can be found at yorkcounty.gov/bos.
