The Edge Hill Alumni Association will hold a bake sale on May 11 to raise scholarship funds for graduating high school students in King and Queen County.
All items at the bake sale will be homemade, according to Reitha O’Neal, a member of the Alumni Association. The event will sell everything from pies and pound cake to zucchini and banana bread.
Reitha said all profits from the sale will go toward the association's two scholarships for King and Queen County students.
The first scholarship is for one high school student going to college, and the other is for a student who chooses to earn a local post-secondary education. Each scholarship is a one-time gift of $1,000, which O’Neal said can help set up students for success after graduation.
“There’s a lot of people who don’t have that money … and (the scholarship) helps them get some of the books they need at the moment,” O’Neal said.

The bake sale will be 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 11 at Scott’s Store, 2940 Walkerton Landing Road, Walkerton.
