As folks across Greater Williamsburg take time to honor and remember veterans and their families this Veterans Day, local governments will generally take Monday off to observe the holiday.
In Williamsburg, city offices will be closed Monday in observance of the holiday, according to a city news release.
Closures include city hall, the Quarterpath Recreation Center and the Williamsburg-James City County Courthouse.
Garbage collection will not be affected by the closures, and Waller Mill Park and the Williamsburg Regional Library will remain open during normal operating hours.
For a water emergency during the holiday, on weekends or after hours, call 757-220-2331.
In James City County, county offices will close Monday however, all county parks and recreation centers will remain open during normal hours, according to a James City County news release.
While all county parks will be open, some of their stores or front offices will be closed on Monday including at Chickahominy Riverfront Park, James City County Marina and the Little Creek Reservoir Park.
County convenience centers and the garbage transfer station will be open during regular hours, and curbside recycling will be picked up as usual.
In York County, all government offices, courts, libraries and social service offices will be closed Monday, according to a county news release.
Garbage and recycling collection will operate normally, and the compost facility, drop-off centers and transfer station on Goodwin Neck Road will remain open, the release said.
