Have some fun in the sun with good music, good food and craft beers at Blues, Brews and BBQ, coming to the Yorktown Riverwalk Landing May 4.
Building off the success of the event in previous years, organizer Mark Medford said the food and drink festival will bring together over 25 local and regional craft beers, samplings from Virginia wineries and a selection of barbecue vendors. Local bands On The Verge and Brasswind also will be on hand to play a mix of blues, rock and funk music to keep the party going.
Barbecue vendors confirmed for the event include Boyd’s Tasty Dogs, Little Piggy’s Wurst Nightmare and Hampton’s B-52 Smokehouse BBQ.
“It’s our signature, established event in Yorktown that brings local and regional craft beer selections for people to sample,” Medford said. “It’s a fun event, everyone has a great time, especially the vendors and the folks that have been to the event before. It’s right on the historic waterfront, so the atmosphere is absolutely gorgeous right there on the river.”
100 percent of the proceeds will benefit the York Foundation for Public Education, a nonprofit organization that benefits York County schools with grants and scholarships, Medford said.
“The success of the event is a collaborative effort between us as the event’s facilitator, but also the nonprofit, the York Foundation for Public Education,” he said. “Our local and regional folks that come to the event know that we put on a really high-quality, fun event.”
