Local restaurants, hotels coordinate free medical care days for employees

Hotel and restaurant employees can take advantage of several days worth of free medical care events in May and June, with services ranging from Medicare enrollment support to on-site screenings.

The Williamsburg Hotel Motel Association and Williamsburg Area Restaurant Association, in partnership with Olde Town Medical and Dental Center and the Williamsburg Health Foundation, will hold three free events for hotel and restaurant employees Wednesday, May 29 and June 12.

Industry workers can learn about services and programs they might not know they’re qualified for, including Medicare enrollment, social services through Historic Triangle localities, Literacy for Life and onsite health screenings for blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol, according to a news release.

The free health and wellness sessions will be held as follows:

» May 15: 1-5 p.m., the Country Inn and Suites, 400 Bypass Road.

» May 29: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Fairfield Inn and Suites, 1402 Richmond Road.

» June 12: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Courtyard by Marriott 470 McLaws Circle.
