Williamsburg Winery has debuted two new tours to explore the winery: Introduction to Wine and Virginia Wine Experience Tour and Tasting.
Michael Kimball, a spokesperson for Williamsburg Winery, said the first new tour, Introduction to Wine, is designed to give wine novices a macro look at the world of wine.
For example, those on the tour will take a look at the noble grapes of the world such as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as an overview of how wine is produced.
The second tour, Virginia Wine Experience, is geared toward the wine enthusiast and will take a more region-specific look at wine, according to Kimball.
“We talk less about the world of wine and talk more about the grapes that produce world class wine specifically here in the commonwealth,” Kimball said. “So one is a little more macro level and the other is a little more micro level in terms of how we are discussing wine.”
Kimball added the two new tours also have a new seated wine tasting session included. Visitors on the tours get to have a seated tasting in a wine cellar room, which most guests do not get to sit in.
“For those who have been (to the Williamsburg Winery) before its a good opportunity to come re-experience the winery,” Kimball said.
