Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center shows William and Mary Students' capstone artwork

The Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center will host the second annual College of William and Mary Senior Capstone Show.

“From the gallery’s perspective, this is a terrific collaboration with William and Mary and the art department there,” said Karen Schwartz, Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center’s program co-chair.

Schwartz said the exhibition will expose members of the Williamsburg community to art they would not normally see.

“There are student shows on campus that the public is invited to, but (members of the community) don’t necessarily know about it,” Schwartz said.

The public reception for the exhibition will be held on Thursday at the gallery. During the event, William and Mary art professor Mike Jabbur will give an overview of the Capstone program and students will talk about their artwork.

“Its a really lovely show, we were very impressed with (the student’s) artwork this year,” Schwartz said. “There’s quite a variety of things you’ll have to come to see.”
