Collaboration is the buzz this school year

Welcome Back, W-JCC students and families!

On behalf of the School Board and every teacher, administrator and staff member in Williamsburg-James City County Schools, we are delighted to welcome you to the 2017-18 school year. We are committed to engaging all of our students in meaningful learning experiences, meeting their diverse learning needs, promoting real-world applications of learning, fostering innovation, and fulfilling the W-JCC vision of “championing the success of all students.”

On Tuesday, more than 11,400 students entered classrooms across the division, and every employee is committed to making this a successful school year for all students.

This is an exciting time to be part of our school division. We are extremely proud to share that for the 11th year in a row, we expect to be 100 percent accredited, meaning all W-JCC schools have met the state Standards of Learning benchmarks and earned full accreditation with the Virginia Department of Education.

For this school year, collaboration, one of our values, is being emphasized across the division. We encourage all of our employees to work together to solve problems and discover innovative ways to move the division forward, particularly in the areas of student equity and achievement.

We are fortunate to live and work in a community that is so supportive of our school division and individual schools. As a parent, family member, community leader or community member, we invite you to share in our collaborative efforts to make our students’ experiences exceptional and meaningful. Your support has and will continue to be one of the reasons why this division is so successful.

Have a great school year!
