CW funding should not go to marketing

I must agree with the views expressed by Clyde Haulman in last Saturday's Gazette. In light of the "Tommy tax," the money contributed by the city to Colonial Williamsburg should not be used for marketing, as the tax generates enough money that the board that oversees it has been talking about spending some of it on capital projects with the hope of creating venues that will attract tourism. Since that pool of money is larger than they can spend on marketing Williamsburg, it is obvious that the money given to CW can be spent elsewhere.
