We need generosity, not judgment on Medicaid

Why do some have health insurance while others don’t? And it is those who have it who are consciously making the decision to deny what should be a basic human right to others.

Is the animosity with how the Affordable Health Care Act came about sufficient reason to deny the tax money I and all Virginians pay that would return here with Medicaid expansion?

The inaction of the Senate Finance Committee, led by Sen. Norment, is being done on our behalf by our representatives. The public favors Medicaid expansion. Funds would be freed up to support teachers, the additional teachers needed, and the resources schools need. The law states what the levels of federal support to the states will be.

We need inspired generosity to our fellow humans, not judgement as to who deserves and who doesn’t.
