Voter wants to read about all candidates

The lengthy article on Rep. Rob Wittman (Sept. 9) was a great summary of his positions. The speech from which the article was drawn was made to 10 members of the Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance.

However, my experience with Rep. Wittman is that he does not reply to questions from constituents except to send boilerplate responses that do not answer the question. One question was why he will not participate in the League of Women Voters candidates' forum. Another was why he has not spoken to his constituents in JCC. Neither was answered. A speech to 10 members of the chamber is not what I had in mind.

I look forward to an article, similarly placed and in similar length, about Wittman's opponent Vangie Williams. Ms. Williams has a platform that includes health care, the environment, gun reform, immigration, Veterans Administration reform, women's rights, military families, broadband, net neutrality and more. For more information, you can visit her website at VangieforCongress, com.

Hers is a grassroots campaign paid for by individual contributions. She does not take money from big corporations. She underlines the need for a representative to be responsive to his/her constituents.

I am an independent voter, so I look forward to your in-depth coverage of her campaign.
