Thanks for making Lobster Dinner a winner

The sixth annual lobster dinner in support of the Kiwanis International Eliminate Project was held at The Kingsmill Resort on Nov. 11. More than 300 guests dined on fresh lobster trucked in from Booth Bay Harbor, Maine. Door prizes were provided by J.M. Smucker Company of Orrville, Ohio, plus several local businesses, including: Blue Talon Bistro, Busch Gardens Christmas Town, the Cheese Shop, Fat Canary, Conscientious Carpet Care, DoG Street Pub, Giuseppe’s restaurant, Hertzler-George Landscaping, Justified Bakeshop, Kingsmill Resort & Spa, Long & Foster Realty, Phaedra McNorton, Gary Plaag, Patriot Buick-GMC, Suter Printing, The Trellis Bar & Grill, Virginia Symphony, Walls Alive, Dr. Kevin Walsh and The Williamsburg Symphony.

The weekend, which included the sale of live lobsters, raised approximately $5,000 to help eradicate maternal neonatal tetanus in parts of the world where it is an epidemic.

Thank you to all who participated as sponsors, guests and donors. Our efforts will save the lives of hundreds of newborns whose mothers are inflected with the disease.
