The William and Mary men’s soccer schedule will feature six 2015 NCAA tourney teams and 11 regular-season home games at Martin Family Stadium.
William and Mary, which finished 7-8-2 last season and returns several all-CAA selections, will start the season at home against George Washington Aug. 26.
The non-conference NCAA participants from last year on the schedule are Coastal Carolina (home, Aug. 29), Georgetown (home, Sept. 13), North Carolina (home, Sept. 20), and Virginia (away Oct. 18). The two CAA opponents that advanced to the NCAAs are Hofstra (away, Oct. 8 and Elon (away, Oct. 12).
Other non-conference opponents are Liberty (away, Sept. 2), Longwood (home, Sept. 6), Campbell (away, Sept. 10), Georgetown (home, Sept. 13), Michigan (home, Oct. 15), and VCU (home, Sept. 26).
The first CAA tilt will be Sept. 17 on the road at Delaware and the CAA championships start Nov. 5.
Among the 22 returning for William and Mary are all-confernce selections junior William Eskay and freshmen Ryder Bell, Marcel Berry, and Antonio Bustamante.
Four 2015 NCAA Tournament participants and 10 regular-season home games dot the Tribe’s 2016 slate.
The other is Virginia Tech, which will visit Martin Family Stadium Sept. 4.
The regular season will start for William and Mary Aug. 19 at East Carolina and the non-conference schedule also includes Maryland (home, Aug. 25), DePaul (home, Aug. 28), Old Dominion (away, Sept. 1), VCU (away, Sept. 8), UNC Greensboro (away, Sept. 11), High Point (home, Sept. 15), Marshall (home, Sept. 18).
William and Mary’s CAA campaign starts with rival JMU Sept. 24 and concludes on the road Oct. 23 at College of Charleston.
Last year, William and Mary won a share of the CAA regular-season title and advanced to the second round of the NCAAs.
