Running back Nate Evans of Lee-Davis High committed to William and Mary, switching from Richmond, the Richmond Times-Dispatch reported.

The 5-foot-10, 190-pounder, a two-time All-Metro pick, had a senior season with 1,340 rushing yards, 576 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns for a Group 5A South playoff team.

Notre Dame lineman transferring to Virginia:

Guard Colin McGovern will use his final season of eligibility at Virginia, 247Sports' Steve Wiltfong reported.

The Notre Dame senior will join Irish teammate John Montelus, another guard who in December announced he would spend the 2017 season at Virginia. The 6-foot-4, 310-pound guard started eight games and appeared in 21 for the Irish.

McGovern started the first six games of the year before he was sidelined with an ankle injury. In the Irish's 30-27 win over Miami, McGovern incurred his second diagnosed concussion in the past year.

McGovern started the following week against Navy before appearing as a reserve in the final three games.
