William and Mary, Charlotte play to scoreless men's soccer draw

William and Mary and Charlotte played to a scoreless men's soccer draw Tuesday at Martin Family Stadium.

The Tribe (1-2-2) has two nonconference matches left before Colonial Athletic Association play begins Sept. 26. W&M next travels to Longwood on Saturday.

W&M and Charlotte (2-2-1), the preseason Conference USA favorite, each created several solid scoring chances despite not registering goals.

Redshirt junior Mac Phillips recorded the clean sheet for W&M and senior Austin Pack for the 49ers.

"You should be disappointed to not have gotten a win," W&M coach Chris Norris told his team," but the performance was good and Charlotte is a very good team, so a tie is not a bad result."

Check back for more from Tuesday's game and a look ahead to the Tribe's upcoming road swing.
