Jamestown, Lafayette, Warhill, Bruton advance in postseason field hockey

Jamestown, Lafayette, Warhill, and Bruton each advanced in postseason field hockey Monday.

Jamestown won the first matchup of a tripleheader at Wanner Stadium, 6-0 over Denbigh, in the 4A Conference 18 tourney. The third-seeded Eagles advanced to visit No. 2 Smithfield on Wednesday.

Lafayette also moved on to the semifinals of the Conference 18 tourney with an 8-0 win over Heritage. The fourth-seeded Rams will hit the road to face Grafton on Wednesday.

In the final game at Wanner Monday, Warhill defeated Southampton 6-0 in the 3A Conference 25 tourney. The second-seeded Lions will travel to Poquoson to meet Spotslyvania on Tuesday.

Bruton knocked off Northumberland 3-0 in the opening round of the 2A Conference 33 tourney. The Panthers will visit George Mason Tuesday.
