You’ll soon be able to find shaved ice, milkshakes and other cold treats along Bypass Road when SnoMania Island opens in the former Dairy Queen building next month.
Owner Kraig Ware said he expects to open at the new location in the second week of April. SnoMania Island first opened in Toano at 7852 Richmond Road in 2017, he said, but as the business became more popular, Ware and his family wanted to expand.
The opportunity arose when Ware spoke with former Dairy Queen owners Ann and Mark Campbell, who were looking to lease the 932-square-foot space. The Dairy Queen closed last September after 17 years in business.
