A 12-year-old Berkeley Middle School student was charged Monday with making written threats to do bodily harm against other students, according to Williamsburg Police Department spokesman Charlie Ericsson.
Around the time school opened on Monday, Williamsburg Police Department officers were called to Berkeley for threats made against students, Ericsson said.
Investigators found that a student made written threats on Instagram and Discord against other students, according to Ericsson, and the student had a knife.
Discord is a popular social media platform for video gamers.
There were no injuries or property damage, Ericsson said.
