Not all walls do the same work

Frank Shatz recently did a good job of exploring the difference between the walls along our southern border and the walls in Israel.

There is one important distinction he did not cover: The walls between Mexico and the U.S. were built to keep persons born in other countries from illegally crossing into the U.S., while the walls in Israel are designed to keep persons born in Palestine from returning to their birthplace.

Recently, we’ve seen this fact played out in the protests along the wall between Gaza and Israel.
