While I applaud Colonial Williamsburg for planning to turn a parking lot into a green space where locals, visitors and students can relax in an outdoor space, I don't applaud the plans for a big screen TV. Noise pollution is rampant in public spaces. People are tethered to their electronic devices. Why add to noise, visual and commercial pollution? Do we need, as reported in the paper "… the video wall cycled between a baseball game and promotional videos for Merchants Square and Colonial Williamsburg"? No video wall, please.
If the convenient parking square is transformed into a “downtown revitalization project,” please, no big screen advertising...
