After the final round of the 2018 season, the strokes were tallied and Jamestown High’s boys beat out seven other teams to win the class 4 Virginia State Golf Championship.
Led by strong performances from Jack DeVore, Mason Eggleston and Bobby Dudeck, the Eagles captured the state title Tuesday at the Williamsburg National Golf Club in James City County.
The Eagles best four golfers racked up 291 strokes to Blacksburg’s 299.
DeVore and Eggleston each shot 1-under-par 71.
But the best golfer of the day was Hayden Miller of Heritage of Lynchburg. He shot a 3-under 69 on the course.
