New Kent Sheriff's Office investigating series of thefts from vehicles, two stolen vehicles

New Kent County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a series of thefts from vehicles and two cases of stolen vehicles.

The thefts took place in the Quinton Road area overnight Sunday into Monday, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

Several items were stolen from unlocked vehicles and two vehicles were stolen. The stolen vehicles are described as a black 2004 Infinti QX6 SUV with the Virginia license plate UYK3984, and a white 2010 Chevrolet Express van with green lettering reading “Chewning & Wilmer, Inc,” a vehicle number of 195 and a Virginia license plate TW75974.

The sheriff’s office wants to remind residents to lock their vehicles when they are not with it, take out important and valuable items from inside the vehicle and do not leave keys inside it.

The sheriff’s office has seen an increase in theft from vehicles in the past two weeks occurring in the Five Lakes area and in Providence Forge, according to the news release.

“This is the time of year where thieves are looking to take advantage of our community,” stated the news release. “Please be vigilant and be proactive with securing your belongings.”

Anyone with information or if they see the stolen vehicles should call New Kent County Sheriff’s Office at 804-966-9500 or Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
