Tidewater area sheriff’s offices are asking residents to bring unused and unwanted prescription drugs to various locations Saturday for National Drug Take Back Day.
The sheriff’s offices of King William, King and Queen and New Kent will participate in the effort in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The goal is the safe disposal of medicine and to prevent medicine abuse or theft, according to a news release from King William County Sheriff’s Office.
King William County Sheriff’s Office will collecti medication from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Central Crossing Shopping Center at 4915 Richmond-Tappahannock Highway.
New Kent County Sheriff’s Office will collecti medication from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the sheriff’s office parking lot, 11995 Courthouse Circle.
King and Queen County Sheriff’s Office will collect medication form 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Nick’s Spaghetti & Steak House, 3483 Lewis B. Puller Memorial Highway, Saluda, and Pamunkey Regional Library, 396 Newtown Road, St. Stephens Church.
Needles and syringes will not be accepted.
