Bacon's Rebellion author to speak in King William

Virginia author and political policy analyst James Bacon is coming to King William.

Bacon writes a political blog — — inspired by the 1676 rebellion led by Nathaniel Bacon, where Virginians fought against the British government.

Bacon is the author of Boomergeddon and will be discussing his non-partisan government solutions on Thursday at a King William Tea Party meeting, according to a news release from the King William Tea Party.

Robert “Sarge” Bruce, secretary for the group said they are looking forward to hearing Bacon speak about non-partisan policies.

"While most of us in King William's Tea Party lean to the right in our political philosophy, we don't endorse many ideas of establishment Republicans, Democrats and even Libertarians,” Bruce said. “Blog posts on Bacon's Rebellion by Mr. Bacon cast a wary eye on government at national, state and local levels. We admire this and look forward to his presentation on how the states can save America from the bipartisan National Debt crisis."

The meeting and event starts at 6:30 p.m., in the boardroom of the King William County Administration building, 180 Horse Landing Road.
