KW seeks public assistance to identify suspect in theft of work trailer

Staff writer

After a person broke into King William Sand and Gravel on Dabney’s Mill Road and stole more than $10,000 in tools and a work trailer, the sheriff’s office has asked people to keep an eye out for an Chevrolet or General Motors single-cab truck.

On June 21 around 9:45 p.m., a person forced a locked gate open at the sand and gravel company on Dabney’s Mill Road off Rt. 360, according to a King William Sheriff’s Office news release.

The person hooked up an open-sided trailer to the back of their truck and drove off, the release said. The trailer had a large welder, air compressor and other welding tools on it.

While the sheriff’s office has released an image of the truck, it is still trying to find the driver, according to the release.

Sheriff Jeff Walton said the image of the truck is the best his office has at this time.
