New Kent supervisor Tiller chosen as board chair, Paige vice chairwoman

New Kent County Supervisor C. Thomas Tiller was chosen as chairman and Patricia Paige was elected vice chairwoman at the board’s Tuesday night meeting, according to deputy clerk Wanda Watkins.

The nominations for Tiller and Paige were approved unanimously, with both Tiller and Paige abstaining, according to Watkins.

Tiller said he served as the board’s chairman four years ago and he really enjoyed it.

“That was probably my favorite year being on the board because I was chair and was very involved. I am honored to be chair this year and look forward to working with the county for a great year ahead.”

Paige said she is very humbled to be nominated and chosen vice chairwoman of the board.

“I am grateful to even serve on the board with my peers having grown up and lived in New Kent all my life,” Paige said. “I think 2019 will be a great year for the county and I am looking forward to serving as vice chairwoman.”
