Tidewater area under winter storm watch, predicted to get two inches of snow by Monday

The Tidewater area is likely to get a total of two inches of snow by Monday and is under a winter storm watch from Saturday to Monday, according to National Weather Service at Wakefield.

Precipitation — rain or snow — should start around 1 p.m. Saturday, with little or no snow accumulation expected. Precipitation of snow, sleet and freezing rain should increase through the day and into Sunday, according to National Weather Service at Wakefield.

Snow and freezing rain should continue into Sunday night, with a chance of snow before 1 p.m. Monday.
