The West Point Ruritan Club held its third annual oyster roast to benefit children in need.

The Children’s Christmas Benefit and third annual oyster roast was held Nov. 17 at Lovell’s Place, where the community came together to enjoy oysters and raise money for children in need, according to a news release from the West Point Ruritan Club.

The Ruritan Club, with help of the oyster roast sponsors, ticket sales and donations, raised more than $2,500 for local children. These funds are expected to help at least 50 local children have a warm coat, winter outfit and more this Christmas, according to the news release.
