Police have arrested three suspects in connection with an attempted robbery.
King and Queen sheriff's investigators said the attempted robbery and assault occurred Aug. 16 in Dragonville.
Police said the victim was riding with two suspects when one of the suspects beat the victim in the head with the butt of the gun and demanded money.
The suspects then attempted to pull the victim from the car, according to police. The victim got away, and a shot was fired into the rear window of the vehicle as the victim sped away.
A third suspect followed the suspects and victim in a second car, and acted as a getaway, according to police.
A joint investigation was conducted by the King and Queen County Sheriff’s Office, Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office and the Virginia State Police.
Carlene Taylor, 21, of King William, is being held without bond and Devon King, 20, of King and Queen, is being held without bail. Police did not say where the suspects are being detained. Their arrangement is set for Sept. 1. A juvenile is being held in a detention center without bail pending arraignment on Sept. 18, according to King & Queen police.
