Kingsmill Comedy Weekend brings the laughs

Staff writer

Kingsmill Resort’s fourth annual Comedy Weekend will bring a lineup of world-class comedians and plenty of laughs Jan. 25 and 26.

The two-day show will be hosted by Jim Flannigan, a Chicago-based stand-up comic with experience performing at comedy festivals and clubs across the country. Each night will feature well-known names from comedy clubs around the country with years of experience in the entertainment industry.

“The whole purpose of the event was to bring a fun, exciting weekend getaway for guests to come enjoy in the winter months,” Kingsmill Vice President of Marketing Elizabeth Grimes said. “It’s always good to get a little bit of humor in the mix after you get your bills back from the holiday gift-giving season.”

Shows will run Friday and Saturday from 8-10:15 p.m. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and attendees can enjoy a full bar and concessions.

Friday night’s lineup will feature performers Kevin McCaffrey, a former warm-up comic for The Late Show with David Letterman, comedian and actress Erin Foley and David Crowe, who can be seen on his one-hour Showtime comedy special, Crooked Finger.

Saturday night will feature Ryan Conner, a top 10 finalist on the most recent season of NBC's Last Comic Standing, up-and-coming stand-up Mark Chalifoux and Los Angeles-based comedian, writer and actor Andy Hendrickson.

Interested readers can choose between weekend packages and tickets for individual nights. The Comedy Weekend Package features two-night accommodations in a resort guest room, tickets to attend both nights of the comedy show, a full breakfast at Elements 1010 and access to Kingsmill amenities. Individual tickets are also available, which range in price from $42 per day for general seating to $45 premium seats.
