Opportunities to hear live, outdoor music abound in area

Nothing says summer quite like outdoor concerts. This month, there’s a full calendar of live music from one end of the Historic Triangle to the other.

» Sounds of Summer Concert Series: Yorktown’s annual live music series is back June 6. The music plays 7-9:30 p.m. every Thursday until Aug. 29, except for the Fourth of July. The concerts are free and open to the public, and are held at Riverwalk Landing. In June, En’Novation (June 6), Right On Band (June 13), Tidewater Drive Band (June 20) and The Main Event Band (June 27) take to the stage. More information: 757-890-3500 . Address: 331 Water St.

» Summer Breeze: CultureFix, Colonial Williamsburg and the Merchants Square Association team up to bring the Summer Breeze concert series to the lawns of the Museums of Colonial Williamsburg on June 26. The music happens 6-9 p.m. every Wednesday until Sept. 11. More information: 757-592-4289. Address: 326 Francis St. W.

» Friday Night Flights: For aviation aficionados, or just people looking for something different, Charly’s Airport Restaurant, located at Williamsburg Jamestown Airport, holds live acoustic music right by the runway 5:30 p.m. June 7, June 14, June 21 and June 28. » Music at the Social Terrace: Williamsburg Inn’s outdoor patio, the Social Terrace, serves as a stage for live musical acts throughout June. Bands will play 6-9 p.m. June 1, June 7-8, June 14-15 and June 21. The patio features a bar. More information: 757-220-7978. Address: 136 Francis St. E.
